What is Hajj?

In 2023, Hajj for Pakistan will take place from Monday, June 26th – Saturday, July 1st, 2023, corresponding to the 10th of Dhulhijjah 1444 AH.

Testing Requirements and Age Limits for Hajj 2023

This year, persons under the age of 65 will be eligible to do the Hajj as long as they have the minimal doses of the Kingdom-approved vaccinations and can show proof of a negative PCR test that was completed no more than 72 hours before their arrival.

Vaccination Requirements

To enter the Kingdom, pilgrims who wish to do the Hajj must be completely immunized against COVID-19 and have received all recommended doses of the following vaccines:

Pakistan Hajj Cost 2023

This year’s Hajj price has increased somewhat as a result of the government’s installation of new fees. Depending on where you reside, the price that the Pakistani government has declared varies. For the Northern and Southern areas, the cost of the government’s Hajj program is around PKR 860,000 and PKR 850,00, respectively.

Meanwhile, booking your Hajj packages through private travel agencies may be more expensive than through the government program. The cost of the basic package is PKR 700,000. The cost of the 5-star package is PKR 900,000.

The Road to Makkah Project

The Road to Makkah project is an endeavor to make it easier for pilgrims from Pakistan and four other nations to go directly to the holy city of Makkah. The program offers direct flights from airports in Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi for pilgrims from Pakistan. The Road to Makkah project permits, among other things:

  • The issuing of e-visas and their approval by the immigration department, as well as the scanning of passports and vital signs at the airport, will make arriving at the destination simpler.
  • The shipping of pilgrims’ belongings to specified lodgings after categorizing and sorting their luggage
  • Buses will transport Pakistani pilgrims directly to their lodgings in Makkah and Madina.

The first two aircraft under the Road to Makkah project just departed for Madina on Monday, June 6th, 2022, from Islamabad International Airport. 42 more flights are reportedly going to be run out of Islamabad.
